Meet Our Elected Church Leaders

Elders on Session

As part of Presbyterian church polity (the way the church governance works), each Presbyterian congregation elects from it’s membership Elders who serve to make decisions on behalf of the congregation. The current Elders on Session are:

Charles Bates (Clerk of Session), Penny Bates, Richard L. Hayzler, Walter Houck, Michael Kosko, Jennifer Kovach, Eric Sives, and Ashley Ziccardi.

This group is responsible for making all of the month-to-month decisions on behalf of the congregation and they do a great job in leading the church through all the ups and downs of life together. The Session currently meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 PM.

Deacons’ Board

Another important aspect of Presbyterian polity is ensuring the spiritual and physical care of the members of the congregation. The congregation elects Deacons to focus on this important aspect of church life. The current Deacons on the Deacons’ Board are:

Nancy Barta (Moderator), Joanne Cosh, Sheryl Dekmar, Frank Del Sardo, Philip Hardin, Stanley Kotowicz, Christine Sarno, Sheila Stormes, and Paulette Touw

This group meets to ensure the congregation’s spiritual and physical health is well taken care of. If you have any spiritual or pastoral care needs, they’re the group to assist you. They do this by visiting members at their homes and in the hospital. They also will go with Pastor Katherine to give communion to members who’re home bound. They generally meet every month or two, after worship.
